1. What We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.

When you use MapSearch, we store your search queries, filter settings, and results to provide the service and enable CSV exports.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide the MapSearch service (search, filter, export)
• To manage your account and credit balance
• To process payments through Stripe
• To improve the service

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• DataForSEO — to query Google Maps business data
• Stripe — to process credit card payments. We never see or store your card details.
• Nominatim (OpenStreetMap) — to geocode location names

4. Cookies

We use a single httpOnly session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics, or advertising cookies.

5. Data Retention

Search results are cached for 72 hours to reduce costs and speed up repeat searches. Your account data is retained as long as your account exists. You can request deletion at any time by emailing hello@mapsearch.app.

6. Data Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. JWT session tokens are stored in httpOnly, Secure, SameSite cookies.
